1. FIELD OF APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES
The fire-retardant paint is a suspension containing heat-resistant, gas and foam forming fillers with non-organic additives in polyacrylate dispersion.
Under high temperature the coating forms foamy layer, preventing fire from penetrating into the cable jacket. The coating is designed to protect the cable layer from inflammation and fire spread.
Fire-retardant paint "KL-1" is ecologically friendly, non-toxic, and fire- and explosion-proof.

4. SURFACE TREATMENT
For application of the coating the surface should be clean and dry. The dust and dirt should be removed by wet cloth. Grease and oil stains should be removed by a solvent (it is recommended to use solvent No. 646). If a solvent is impermissible, detergent solutions, spirits and spirit solutions can be used.
5. APPLICATION
Application conditions.
Ambient temperature - not less than +5 °Ñ;
Relative air humidity - not more than 85 %;
Application method.
The material should be applied either by high-pressure airless spraying devices with plunger pump («WAGNER HC 55 E», «GRACO») or manually by means of a brush or roller.
Before application the paint should be thoroughly mixed with electric mixer for 3 - 5 minutes. The fire-retardant paint should be applied in several layers. The thickness of the first layer should be 200-250 micron in wet condition which corresponds to 150-200 micron in dry condition. The thickness of the subsequent layers should be 300-400 micron (upon the wet layer). When the thicknes of a dry layer is 0.1 mm, the consumption should be 0,14-0,22 kg/m2.
The interlayer dry-out period amounts to:
- not less than 4 hours after application of the first layer;
- not less than 2 hours after application of the second layer.
The final dry-out period is 2-3 days.
The number of fire-retardant paint layers is determined on the basis of the required thickness of the fire-retardant coating.
Cleaning of tools.
Tools should be washed immediately after application.
6. OPERATING CONDITIONS AND LIFE TIME OF THE COATING
The coating can be used indoor. Avoid direct condensed moisture.
Operational temperature: -50 °Ñ up to +50 °Ñ
Operation period of the coating amounts to not less than 15 years.
7. PACKING AND STORAGE
Fire-retardant paint "KL-1" is supplied in metal 25 kg pails.
The storage period of the paint in dry conditions under temperature not less than +5 °Ñ in manufacturer's packing amounts to 1 year.
